  • Registration process

To register a firm, you must:

    • Send a statement to the Registrar of Firms
    • Include the following information:
      • Firm name
      • Principal place of business
      • Names of other places of business
      • Partner names and addresses
  • Registrar of Firms

The Registrar of Firms is a public servant who is responsible for:

    • Recording statements
    • Amending entries
    • Recording changes in firm constitution
    • Recording dissolution
    • Recording withdrawal of a minor 

Other things to consider when doing business in Bangladesh include: 

  • Registering with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authorities (BIDA) if the company is foreign or has foreign investors 
  • Obtaining a Business Identification Number (BIN) by registering for VAT with the National Board of Revenue 
  • Obtaining a VAT registration certificate by submitting an online application and necessary documents to the NBR 
  • Required documents, which may include: 
    • Application form 
    • National ID card of the entrepreneur 
    • Holding tax payment receipt 
    • Recent passport size picture of the entrepreneur 
    • Declaration of non-judicial stamp 
    • A certified copy of the memorandum and articles of association
